Objet : Girl Scout Music Question

Hello, Gerard!

I hope you're having a great week so far. My daughter, Mila is currently working towards earning her Musician Badge as part of her involvement in Girl Scouts. Her interest in the topic has really grown so her leader encouraged her to dig into some research during her free time. That's how we discovered The Rock & Country Encyclopedia & Discography site and we're so glad we did!

Mila has been spending a lot of time exploring the Links page: www.rocky-52.net/sites1.htm

The goal of the badge is to learn how music is made and how to perform music yourself. Mila's really looking forward to learning about different music genres and instruments and developing her singing skills. She actually has a music day camp tomorrow that we were able to sign her up for last minute, so she's super excited to see what she learns and how she can incorporate it into her badge requirements.

Mila also came across another helpful resource that she'd love for you to check out: couponfollow.com/research/how-to-get-into-music-for-free

It's a guide about how to explore a passion for music. She thinks it would be really helpful to others who are looking to learn more about the topic!

She would be thrilled if it could be added to the Links page, and I know her leader would be so impressed to see the extra initiative. Is this something you'd be able to add? It's been tough finding hobbies that truly capture Mila's interest so watching her light up with curiosity and passion about music has been such a joy for me and will most certainly make her leader proud too.

If it's possible to have it included by Monday, it would be amazing. That's the date of her next meeting.

Thank you so much for your help! We hope to hear back from you soon.

Megan

Objet : Shorty Warren and the Air Check 78's

Hello,

Greetings from the USA. I was pleased to see your article on Shorty Warren. There are actually three of the Western Air-Checks. Also six of the 1000 Series that cover pop songs.

The interesting part about his record listing is the Air Check recordings do not appear anywhere else. This was curious to me and the Air Check songs are shortened versions and not edits from longer recordings. The pop songs are the same way but definitely came from the Top Ten Hits label owned by Arthur Seger - who also owned the Seger record label. I suspect but cannot prove that the Air Check records were issued by Seger too. It all ended when he died in September 1953.

Sincerely, Mathew Hargreaves

Objet : Neil Sedaka

I just saw your great page at: https://rocky-52.net/chanteurss/sedaka_n.htm
and notice you are missing some Neil Sedaka picture sleeves. Neil stated publicly that I have the largest collection of his recordings and ephemera in the world. Even sho, you have photos of some items I've been searching for for at least 40-50 years!
