Canadian country music fans and industry types
alike are talking and listening to the sound of Canada's latest country
sensation, Rick Tippe. Fans who have seen him perform live know the
claim of Rick Tippe being the most exciting performer north of
Garth Brooks is justified. Country music
fans have witnessed these show-stopping performances either at music festivals,
on major concert tours or when they've actually been part of an intimate club
crowd for one of Rick's killer shows.
Over the past few years Rick has toured western Canada with
Mark Chesnutt and
David Lee Murphy, and he has
opened for countless other artists like
Terri Clark, Tracy Byrd,
Sawyer Brown. In 1999 Rick and his
band "The Party Down Posse" continued to have one of the busiest tour schedules
in Canada. Headlining and sharing the stage with artists, like
Jo Dee Messina,
Brooks & Dunn,
The Dixie Chicks and many, many
more. Rick's tour schedule has taken him around the world, including
the United Kingdom, Australia and the United States.. Rick has
upcoming performances in North Carolina, Michigan, Washington state and Las
Vegas before the next millennium arrives.
Rick is on an amazing streak. All of his last 14 singles have been TOP 40 Hits
on the Country Music charts in Canada. From Rick's debut album "Should'a Seen
Her Comin", there were 6, "Get Hot Or Go Home" another 6 and the first two
singles off at his latest album "Shiver 'n Shake" have broken into the TOP 15.
Rick is no stranger to television either. He has been interviewed and performed
on countless television shows over the years. He is probably best known for his
8 Music Videos that have been airing on CMT Canada for the past four years. Rick
has also appeared on some of CMT's specialty programming including "One On One"
and the "CMT Request Line".
1998 saw Rick win his first CCMA Award for Independent Male vocalist of the Year
and in 1999 he picked up his fourth consecutive BCCMA Male vocalist of the Year
Award. The electricity of Rick Tippe's live show and the strength of his CD's
and Music Videos has not gone unrecognized and can only be described as a
stepping stone for what has already become a decorated career for one of the
hardest working performers in show business.
