ROCKIN' AND ROLLIN' WITH GRANDMAW
(Carson J. Robison)

Granmaw rockin' in her rockin' chair
Puttin' pin curlers in her old gray hair
I says, granny how's your rheumatis'
She said, son don't you know what day this is?
That rheumatis' has gotta be all right
'Cause I'm rockin' and rollin' on a Saturday night
She's got a date with farmer Gray
He's eighty-five, if he's a-day
Fat, bow-legged and muscle-bound
But he's the rockingest rollingest man in town
With his red flannel underwear shrinkin' up tight
Rockin' and rollin' on a Saturday night
Rock, rock, boot heels are wackin'
Rock, rock, false teeth a-crackin'
Rock, rock, toupee a-flappin'
Rock, rock, anything can happen
I hope granny's bustle is tied on tight
When she's rockin' and rollin' on a Saturday night

Work all week from sun to sun
Saturday night if the work ain't done
It's just too bad, but I can't wait
Hitch up the mule, 'cause I got a date
Tell the boss to go fly a kite
'Cause I'm rockin' and rollin' on a Saturday night
We pass a joint that jumpin' with jive
Old mule starts to come alive
Flips his tail, says holy gee!
And he sits right down on a whiffletree
The whiffletree snapped and hit him in the rump
And we all wind up a straddled up a stump

A hot time in the old home town
When granmaw kicked the stovepipe down
Old man Gray says, turn down the wick
Dig that gal, she's a real gone chick
Razmataz, she's dynamite
When she's rockin' and rollin' on a Saturday night
Rock, rock, rooty-toot-tooty
Rock, rock, sweet tutti-frutti
Rock, rock, apple pandowdy
Rock, rock, howdy man howdy!
Rampetamp-tampi-and-a-poodle-dee-dight
Rockin' and rollin' on a Saturday night
