Chanteur Country US né Leonald Francis Gauthier, le 15 Juillet 1933 à Rouyn, Québec, Canada, où il rencontrera son épouse Ginger, elle aussi musicienne. Hal Willis fera partie de l'orchestre de Ginger, les Melodie Rangers, avant d'enregistrer son premier disque en 1951. Sur les conseils de Webb Pierce, ils s'installeront en 1955 à Nashville et se produiront localement. En 1956, grâce à Hank Snow , il se produiront avec Elvis mais c'est en 1965 que Hal entrera dans l'histoire de la Country Music avec son hit "The Lumberjack". Ginger, qui écrivait dans les magazines Country tels que "Country Song Roundup", est décédée le 4 Septembre 2015.
