US Rock 'n'
Roll singer and guitarist born on May 12, 1937 in
Lampasas (Texas).
Buddy Holly & Bob were
good friends from early school days in Lubbock. Bob replaced Jack Neal, who
Buddy had first teamed with, to become
the Buddy & Bob duo. During 1954-55, they cut several demos at Nesman Studios in
Wichita Falls, TX & at radio KDAV, where they performed weekly on Sunday Party.
They would team up with Larry Welborn to become simply "Buddy, Bob & Larry".
After the trio split, Bob based himself in Clovis as Norman Petty's assistant
and session guitarist. Montgomery wrote songs like "Heartbeat", "Down the Line",
"Love's Made a Fool of You", and "Wishing". In 1959 Bob released a solo 45 on
Brunswick "Because I Love You" (produced by Petty).

Patsy Cline & "Misty Blue". He later
became a top producer in the Nashville music industry during the '90s. He
produced hits for Bobby Goldsboro,
Reba McEntire,

publishing company "House Of Gold" published BMI Award winning songs: "Wind
Beneath My Wings", "Love In The First Degree", "Elvira", "Behind Closed Doors",
"She Got The Goldmine (I Got The Shaft)" and numerous others.
Bob's wife Carol, was a session singer for many years and the two released 3
