Groupe US formé en 1937, les "Maddox Brothers And Rose" ont enregistré chez Columbia à partir de 1946, devenant le meilleur groupe Hillbilly US qui possédait un répertoire très vaste. Ils étaient des interprètes fougueux et dynamiques, utilisant le plus souvent les accords de base du Boogie. Il se dégage de leurs disques une exubérance, une folie ambiante, une atmosphère de kermesse et une ferveur proche du Gospel qui en font de véritable joyaux du Hillbilly. Le groupe comprenait : Cal, Henry, Fred, Don et Rose Maddox, tous né à Boaz (Alabama). Les "Maddox Brothers" se sont séparés à la fin des années cinquante, Rose continuant une carrière solo.
