a débuté en 1955, en jouant avec les Fidelities. Il fit ensuite la connaissance de Mac Rebennack
qui l'engagea dans les Skyliners, le groupe de
Frankie Ford. Il enregistra un single sous le nom de
Ronnie And The Delinquents. Ronnie continua à se produire avec Renneback devenu Dr John avant de rejoindre l'orchestre de
Louis Prima. Puis il enregistra sous son propre nom pour le label Sunshine Records.
